Gillian Booth - Australia

Gillian Booth

Gillian holds a 15th Dan in Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu. She has over 35 years experience in martial arts, and is a former Australian judo champion.

Gillian trains at least twice yearly in Japan with Hatsumi Sensei, Nagato, Noguchi and Oguri Sensei and other senior shihan.

Gillian is a dynamic practitioner and teacher. She has professional qualifications in organisational management and development.

Angeles Bordón Mendoza - Canary Islands

Angeles Bordón Mendoza

Angeles Bordon Mendoza, Shihan from the Canary Islands, has practiced Bujinkan since November 1988. She has studied in Japan on different occasions with Hatsumi Sensei and other Shihans. Her first trip was in 1991 and has been back since that time a minimum of once a year. She has participated in various Taikai's with Masaaki Hatsumi in Alicante, Canary Islands and Barcelona as well as various seminars given by different instructors of Bujinkan.

Sabine Frohlich - Germany

Sabine Frohlich

Sabine Fröhlich began in Bujinkan in 1989. Since that time she has been involved in Bujinkan Germany and the Bujinkan Dojo Dietzenbach.
Her first Japan training trip to Hombu dojo was in 1991 and since then she has participated in numerous national and international seminars and Taikai’s.
She has organized along with her husband, Steffen G. Fröhlich two TaiKai with Dr. Masaaki Hatsumi in Germany in 1994 and 1999 and was distinguished with the Gold Medal twice by him. She is also organizing and part of the annual Buyukai in Germany.
Her children, Jacqueline and Robin have trained for years Ninjutsu and one can say the whole family trains not just Budo, but lives Bujinkan also.
Sabine also teaches and trains Tai Chi, Qi Gong and Yoga.

Sheila Haddad - Germany/USA

Sheila Haddad

Sheila has been training and teaching martial arts internationally since 1989 She holds a 15th degree black belt in Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu/Ninjutsu, and high ranks in several other Japanese style arts. Sheila trains regularly in Japan. In addition she teaches Self Defense workshops of all levels for girls, teenagers and adult women, with focuses on the psychological aspects of trauma and abuse, broadening awareness, developing intuition and sensitivities for prevention purposes. Through her affiliations, travels, and studies, she stays current with issues facing women of all ages in our society. Sheila is an Executive Board Member of American Women's Self Defense Association, a member of the National Women's Martial Art Federation, and Association of Women Martial Arts Instructors. She is also an active member, teacher and past event organizer for the Pacific Association of Women Martial Artists.

Sheila founded the Seido Institute, an organization devoted to the integration of the warrior and healing arts. The Institute offers international workshops, seminars and certifications in martial arts and Seido Bio-Energy Therapy. She has earned a Masters degree in Psychology, and conducts workshops and seminars in martial arts, women's self defense and Seido Bio-energy throughout the world.

Frances Haynes - Australia

Frances Haynes

Frances is a master level instructor. She has over 25 years martial arts experience and has trained in ninjutsu for 16 years. Frances also trains regularly in Japan.

She is a consultant to government on interpersonal violence and crime prevention. Frances has a particular interest in self-defence and scenario based training.

Julieta Laorga - Spain

Julieta Laorga

Julieta Laorga holds a 15th Dan in Bujinkan Dojo.
She began to practice Martial Arts, specifically Judo in 1979, with her former teacher (now husband ) Jose María Conejo, who's also a 15th Dan in Bujinkan Martial Arts.
Her training in Ninjutsu began in 1986, in a seminair given by Ruy de Mendoza. After she met Grand Master Masaaki Hatsumi in October 1988 in Japan, Julieta realized that 
Bujinkan Bûdo Taijutsu is what she had been looking for and left Judo to dedicate exclusively to Bujinkan.

Since 1988 she travels almost every year to Japan for training and has attended almost every Hatsumi Sensei's Tai Kai from 1988 till the last European Tai Kai. She organized along with her husband the Alicante TaiKai (given by Soke Massaki Hatsumi) in 1996.
She has two sons: Jorge and Javier, both Bujinkan Shidoshis who also train regularly with Soke Hatsumi. During all these years she has given a lot of seminars for the diffusion of Ninjutsu and is actually teaching at her Dojo in Elche (Spain).

Cathy Lewis - USA

Cathy Lewis

Cathy has been involved in martial arts for over 26 years. She has studied and taught kids and adults in Bujinkan Budo for over 19 years. She is a 15th Dan, and has traveled nationally and internationally since 1991. She regularly travels to Japan to study under the Bujinkan Soke, Massaki Hatsumi.

Bujinkan Budo is extremely effective and it doesn’t rely upon size or physical strength. This along with the psychological and emotional aspects of training emphasizes for each person, man, woman or child to develop the ability to deal with many different challenges in every day life. This way of living is the root of all our classes and the women's self-protection seminars.

Cathy teaches at Lifeskills Martial Arts in Irvine, CA. USA.
She is certified as a Hatha Yoga Instructor and in Usui Reiki. She is involved with KidSafe911, SafetyHands Self Defense Tool and is a Board Member of the Association of Women’s Self Defense Advancement.

Natascha Morgan - UK

Natascha Morgan

Natascha Tomarkin Morgan is one of a handful of Bujinkan women to hold the rank of 15th Degree Black Belt, having trained in the martial arts since she was 5 years old when she studied Judo in Bern, Switzerland, her native home.

In the past 18 years she has traveled the world extensively, studying and teaching Budo and self-protection skills. In New Zealand she was recognized as a true warrior by the Maori people and given the Maori name for “Woman of Strong Spirit.” In Africa she has lived in the bush, honing her survival skills and studying the wild animals, and has taught self-defense to schoolgirls in South African townships.

Fluent in four languages, she continues to travel, teaching her own unique forms of self-defense to women’s groups, rape crisis counselors, martial artists, and police personnel around the world, while also returning to Japan each year to further her own Budo training.


Estelle Padeloupe - Canada/France

Estelle Padeloupe

Estelle founded the Bujinkan Dôjô of Eure in High Normandy (France) and co-founded, with her husband, the Bujinkan Dojo Montreal in 2007.
She discovered Ninjutsu 12 years ago, for which she developed a real passion. In 1999, she met Arnaud Cousergue, and has been his student ever since. She also trains with other Shihan, Sveneric Bogsäter, Pedro Fleitas Gonzales, Peter King. She has been training from 6 to 8 hours a week, and taking part in more than 15 seminars a year. She goes to Japan on a regular basis to train with Hatsumi Sensei and other Japanese Shihan. She received her 11th Dan from Hatsumi Sensei in 2008.

Marie-Valerie Saumon - France

Marie-Valerie Saumon

I started training in 1984 with Sylvain Guintard, and at the same time with Arnaud Cousergue. I continued my training with Arnaud when Sylvain left Bujinkan in 1991. I had a Dojo for six years and taught both adults and children. I then took a leave for pregnancy and taking care of my child. I have returned to training now several months. Currently I am a 12th Dan.

Mariette van der Vliet - 15th Dan, Netherland

Mariette van der Vliet

Mariette started Ninjutsu in 1983. Before that she trained Tae Kwondo. In 1983 she read an article in a Dutch budo magazine about Ninjutsu as it was called then and thought it was very interesting so she wrote the organiser and since then she is hooked because she found it to be so complete.

Her first teacher was Hans Hesselmann and after 2 years Moshe Kastiel from Israel and Larry Jonsson from Sweden.

She travels since 1990 every year to Japan for training with Sensei and the Japanese Shihans and organized the Taikais in Holland in 1996 and 2000. Also, she attended since 1987 about 21 Taikais in Europe, Israel and the States. Teaching since 1988 in countries like England, Germany, United States, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Belgium and Netherlands.

Patricia Witteman - The Netherlands

Patricia Witteman

Patricia Witteman lives in Sassenheim, Netherlands and has been training since 1990. Her Bujinkan studies began with George Wagenmaker and 4 years later she continued her studies under Sveneric Bogsater. A new world opened for her when she started to attend seminars, Taikai, training in Japan and developing contacts from all over the world.

Currently she works in a sports facility utilizing Taichi, Yoga, Do-in, Qi-gong, self defense, running, volleyball and fitness as therapeutic means for psychiatric patients. In her spare time she is into horses and continuing to add depth in her Taichi/Qi-gong, and Qi-ji dao which she feels strongly helps her movement and flow in Bujinkan.

The last few years she has added the study of acupuncture, chinese herbs and shiatsu/do-in.
